Easter Seminar “Awakening the Identity” 2015 in Tulcea
This year’s YEN Easter Seminar 2015 with the headline “Awakening the Identity” took place from the 28th March until the 3rd April in Tulcea, Romania.
Our member organisation CTArm and their fellow Aromanian/ Vlach minority organisations were a friendly host for around 80 participants, who were lucky enough to enjoy a delightful portfolio of trips, cultural events, discussions and workshops. On the 27th of April before the event, a delegation of YEN and CTArm used the opportunity for a visit in the Department for Interethnic Relations of the the Romanian Governement in Bukarest. In a meeting with Rodica Precupetu and Adriana Petraru they discussed teh possibilities for a recognition of the Aromanian/ Valch minority in the country. The official opening took place in the city council of Tulcea and was visited by different official authorities from the Romanian government and local minority organisations.
The workshops of the seminar were working on the topics of NON-formal Education, Sustainability Identity and Photography. Skills which are beneficial for the members of the organisations. In the meantime the Working Groups of Politics, Member Integration and Communication were ending a successful year with writing and publishing the “YEN White Paper on Minority Rights”. Moreover the groups were already brainstorming about a new topic: “The YEN – Awareness Campaign”. This project, which will start this year, will be dealing with the topic “Discrimination”.
Thanks again a lot to the organising team and our supporters!
