Organisation
The BJDM was founded in 1992 as an association for young members of the German minority in Poland. Currently it has about 7000 members. Its main issues are the preservation of their culture, traditions, history and language. Furthermore the BJDM offers different kinds of language and IT courses to educate its members.
Minority
The German minority in Poland consists of about 400 000 – 500 000 Germans that live in the regions that were added to the Republic of Poland when the borders changed after the Second World War (Silesia, Pomerania and East-Prussia).
