Teambuilding in Berlin

From 9-12 of May 2013 the old and new Board and the Office of the Youth of European Nationalities (YEN) met in Berlin in order to give over the tasks and the responsibilities to the new Board members. During the teambuilding there is always some free space for fun and the possibility to get to know each other.

At the General Assembly of YEN were elected Evgenia Vibe (JdR) as Vice president, Angel Nikolov (VYCM) as the Chair of the YLC, Miro Verdel (KSŠŠD) as Convenor for Politics and Berit Nommensen (Rökefloose) as Convenor for Enlargement.

The new Board members got an introduction about the administrative and organizational work by YEN President Fatma Resit. Next to this she explained the structure, tasks and responsibilities of the individual positions. During the meeting the importance of internal and external communication as well as the time management was mentioned a few times. In particular interesting and instructively were the reports of the old Board members, means the exchange of experience. In addition an important point was the planning of the 30 years anniversary of YEN in 2014.

Furthermore, a meeting with the project manager of Language Diversity, Judith Walde, took place and a visit of the YEN office in Berlin-Mitte. Subsequently, the Board went to the Herdelezi street festival of Amaro Foro. It is part of the Association Amaro Drom – an Intercultural Youth Association of Roma and non-Roma in Germany. Amaro Drom is represented in the European organization “ternYpe – International Roma Youth Network”. In preparation of the anniversary year of YEN and the focus on Roma, YEN is looking forward to a close cooperation with this Youth Association. For this reason Madlena Kowar met recently with the chairman of Amaro Drom, Emran Elmazi.
